William Hill (ipoker) confirm use of bots

William Hill, the UK based ipoker skin has confirmed that it uses 'bots' from time to time in their games. This affects not only the games on William Hill but across the whole ipoker network, so even if you are on a different skin (e.g. paddypower) you will be playing vs the same bot.

'bots' are robot AI which make automatic decisions having been pre-programmed by its creator. They usually operate by playing a pre-programmed strategy, or by solving problems at the table using game theory to decide the frequency with which it should fold/raise/call with the hand that it has been dealt.

The confirmed use of these 'bots' is expressed in the terms and conditions of William Hill:

"10.1.1.4 in games offered via the Website which benefit from more players or greater liquidity we may deploy electronic players (known as robots, and whose usernames will be "bot") who are pre programmed to play and join in with the game in order to assist the liquidity or the number of players gaming"

and the original source of that statement can be viewed here if you scroll down to section 10.
