Multimedia cheap fast wow gold Graphics Software companies Activision Blizzard and Electronic Arts range from 5% to 48% above current prices.
Earnings growth for Activision and EA are expected to underperform the S near term, split perform in 2015, and outperform beyond. Multimedia Graphics Software companies Activision Blizzard, Inc. (NASDAQ:ATVI) and Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:EA) have been at each other's throats for supremacy over the realm of online and console games for years.
This holiday season, the two electronic games companies will meet in battle again, each wielding a new series of formidable software weaponry designed to win more followers to their factions.
Shouting out his battle cry proclaiming his faction's readiness for battle, Bobby Kotick, chief executive officer of Activision Blizzard, boasted his company's third quarter triumphs in a press release:
"Our record third quarter results were driven by Destiny, the biggest new videogame franchise launch of all time, as well as strong sales from Blizzard Entertainment's Diablo III: Reaper of Souls Ultimate Evil Edition, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, which now has over 20 million registered players, and World of Warcraft, which saw a quarterly increase in subscribers to 7.4 million in anticipation of the upcoming Warlords of Draenor release. We are raising our full year non GAAP outlook and we expect to deliver double digit non GAAP revenue growth year over year and record non GAAP earnings per share."
Responding with its own roar in acceptance of the challenge match, Electronic Arts trumpeted its own feats of prowess in a recent press release for Q2 of fiscal 2015:
"Calendar year to date, EA continues to be the 1 publisher on PlayStation4 and Xbox One consoles in the Western World, led by FIFA 15, NHL 15, Madden NFL 15, EA SPORTS UFC, Titanfall, Battlefield 4, and FIFA 14. In fiscal Q2, EA's players logged more than 1.9 billion hours of gameplay on console and PC. Monthly active users for EA's mobile titles averaged over 155 million in Q2. EA's mobile sports games averaged more than 40 million monthly active users in Q2, up 250% year over year, driven by Madden NFL Mobile and FIFA 15 Ultimate Team Mobile. To date, players have logged more than 89 million games of Madden NFL 15, up 48% year over year. Battlefield Hardline will launch on March 17, 2015 in North America, and beginning on March 19, 2015 in Europe."
The battle lines are drawn. Both factions have amassed their millions of minions, butting their weapons, clanking their body armor, belting their collective roars to echo through the valleys below, sending every sort of animal critter scurrying into its burrow, leaving the land above to the titans as they thrash it out to the finish.
Who will be the victor? Who will remain standing? Which side will win the honor of raising its faction's flag to claim the electronic gaming landscape as its very own domain?
Well, for starters, neither side really has very much to roar about. So let's put our swords in their sheaths, hang up our armor in the cloakroom, and then quietly take our seats in front of the whiteboard where we'll go over some numbers. Remember to raise your hand when you want to speak, and use your indoor voice, please. Thank you.
Just to recap where the two factions are coming from, both Activision and EA have failed miserably to keep up with the rest of the civilized technology sector or even the broader realm of human business activity at large, as noted in the graph displayed below.
During the past 5.5 years since the economic recovery began in March of 2009, the broader market S 500 index (black) and the Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) (blue), of which EA is a member, have risen up with their own armies to take more than thrice the territories they held before the recovery rising some 202% and 210% respectively. Multimedia Graphics Software companies, however, have barely managed to grow by half that rate, with EA (purple) expanding some 165% and Activision (beige) growing just 105%. (Groaning amongst the hordes.)

Although some victories were won recently by both sides, as their fearless leaders proudly proclaimed (polite applause, a lone war grunt in the background), assessments of each side's battle tactics and anticipated strategies lead us to expect underperformance versus the broader market in the current and next quarters as tabled below, where green indicates outperformance and yellow denotes underperformance. Those of you who are color blind just ask your neighbor for assistance.
In fact, where Activision's growth is expected to slow into stagnation, EA is seen actually losing some of its previously hard fought ground (some gasping in astonishment).
However, all is not lost, as over the next five years, both factions are expected to get their companies of troops together for an outright assault on the broader human business activity, and once again expand at a growth rate believed to be 50% to 64% greater than the average. (A roar of cheers reverberates through the war hall.)

Yet, there is more than earnings growth to consider when sizing up a company as a potential investment. How do the two compare against each other in other metrics, and which makes the best investment?
Let's answer that by comparing their company fundamentals using the following format: a) financial comparisons, b) estimates and analyst recommendations, and c) rankings with accompanying data table. As we compare each metric, the best performing company will be shaded green while the worst performing will be shaded yellow, which will later be tallied for the final ranking.
A) Financial Comparisons
Market Capitalization: While company size does not necessarily imply an advantage and is thus not ranked, it is important as a denominator against which other financial data will be compared for ranking.
Growth: Since revenues and expenses can vary greatly from one season to another, growth is measured on a year over year quarterly basis, where Q1 of this year is compared to Q1 of the previous year, for example.
In the most recently reported quarter, EA posted the greatest revenue growth year over year by a significant degree. Since neither company's earnings growth is available, the metric will not factor into the comparison.
Profitability: A company's margins are important in determining how much profit the company generates from its sales. Operating margin indicates the percentage earned after operating costs, such as labor, materials, and overhead. Profit margin indicates the profit left over after operating costs plus all other costs, including debt, interest, taxes, and depreciation.
Of our two contestants, Activision operated with the widest profit and operating margins, while EA contended with the narrowest.
